Verification of Sugarcane Genetic Pedigrees by Microsatellite (SSR) DNA Fingerprints和题为USDA Sugarcane Breeding in Louisiana的精彩报告。
主讲人简介:Yong-Bao Pan,With over 37 years of genetics research experience, Dr. Pan has published 68 papers, made 53 presentations at professional meetings/workshops, of which 20 were international. The PCR protocols for leaf scald and RSD are being used in quarantine facilities in several countries including the USDA-APHIS Quarantine Facility in U.S.A. Dr. Pan contributed to the development and recent release of four commercial sugarcane and three high-fiber energy cane cultivars. He is recognized both nationally and internationally as a genetics expert and is sought frequently for hosting young foreign sugarcane scientists for training and for technical advice and consultation from the U.S. as well as foreign countries including Australia, Brazil, China, Japan, India, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, and Thailand. Dr. Pan received 13 international invitations to conduct collaborative research, serve as an Ad Hoc reviewer, write book chapter, organize training workshops, and make scientific presentations. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Professionals in Sugar and Integrated Technologies (IAPSIT) since 2005 and serves on the editor/referee panels of five international sugar journals.
主讲人简介:James Todd,Dr. James Todd is a research geneticist in Research Plant Molecular Geneticist at USDA-ARS. In 2011 he received his PhD in Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK, USA. His dissertation work included field design of a randomized complete block design for a switchgrass biomass heritability study and statistics to measure biomass yield. He also worked on an AFLP diversity study to evaluate the diversity of germplasm, and bagged plants for inbred production, and determined inbreeding by SSR markers. His articles published in Agronomy Journal, Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution, Journal of the American Society of Sugar Cane Technologists, PloS One, Genetics and Molecular Research, Bragantia, etc.
